An index,not an advertising board.
Finding a genuinely good gym is still absurdly hard. The listings that rank are the ones that paid to, the photographs are three renovations old, and nobody will tell you whether the coaching is any good or the showers run hot at seven in the morning.
Gymsss is the correction. Every club, event, app and label here was put in by hand, looked at by a person, and written up in plain language — including the parts an operator would rather we left out.
Nobody buys a place on this index. There is no advertising on it, no sponsored row at the top of the results, and no arrangement under which a club can pay to be ranked above another one. If a room is listed here, it is because it earned the listing.

The standard
What earnsa place here.
Four questions, asked of every club before it goes live and again whenever a member tells us something has changed.

The room
Equipment that is current and maintained, air that moves, light worth training in, and finishes chosen by someone who cared. A good room is obvious in the first thirty seconds.

The coaching
Credentialed, present on the floor, and outnumbered by nobody. A club can buy the plates and the marble; it cannot buy a coaching floor that knows your name.

The service
Front desk to recovery suite — towels, kit, laundry, treatment, and a locker room you would happily get ready for the rest of your day in.

The value
Not the cheapest. Worth what it asks. A $400 membership and a $40 one can both belong here; a room that overcharges for neither space nor coaching cannot.
The uncomfortable question
So how isthis paid for?
Listings are free and always will be — charging for them is the exact thing that ruined every directory that came before this one.
When Gymsss does earn money, it will be from things that cannot bend the ranking: memberships for readers, and referral arrangements that are labelled on the page where they appear. No club will ever be able to buy a position, a badge, or a better write-up. If that ever changes, it will be written here first.
